Apartment in the French Pyrennees

The apartment is situated in the picturesque mountain village of Cauterets. The stunningly beautiful Pyrenean National Park with its fauna and flora, rivers, lakes and waterfalls is a paradise for all lovers of nature no matter what the season. It is superb for hiking, cycling, fishing, riding and all winter sports.

The apartment is one of eleven in an old townhouse conversion and was recently renovated to a high standard. There is an attractive sitting room with wooden floors and exposed beams. Double-glazed French windows lead on to a large balcony with table and chairs for outdoor eating. There is a well-equipped kitchen/dining area. A spiral staircase leads to a comfortable bedroom with double bed and en-suite bathroom.

Colour television, a barbecue, towels and bed-linen are all provided.

Four Hours to a Holiday in the Sun

Mt Teide, its 12,000ft volcano, dominates Tenerife, the largest and most spectacular of the sunny Canary Islands. Tenerife’s special climate and vegetation are due to this great mountain: to its north and east the island is brilliant green, whilst the southwest - where Los Gigantes lies - is the driest and sunniest area.

The Canaries all-year-round sunniness is guaranteed by the islands Atlantic position, just off the coast of Saharan Africa. But temperatures are moderated by the northwest trade winds

At its coolest in January, Tenerife still enjoys daily temperatures of 20°c (70°f) whilst August, the hottest month, has days at 30°c (85°f). Nights may be up to 10°c cooler at all times of the year.

Karol Smal has a large apartment available for rent throughout the year in the village of Los Gigantes at the modest price of Ł300 per week or Ł550 for 2 weeks.

The Apartment at the Poblado Marinero is in a quiet area of courtyards and exotic trees and shrubs. It overlooks the marina and beyond this a dolphin-haunted sea backed by huge 1,500ft cliffs after which the village, Los Gigantes, is named.

The self-catering apartment comfortably accommodates 4-6 people. Besides its large balcony, it has two double bedrooms, a fully fitted kitchen, a bathroom and an additional loo, and a spacious lounge with a sofa which converts into two single beds.

Poblado Marinero Apartments and Marina are built alongside the beach, which is sheltered and suitable for swimming. There is also a lido next door with two large pools, sun lounge areas, and a restaurant. If you fancy some sailing, then charter boats are available for hire in the marina. Only a couple of minutes walk into Los Gigantes village brings you to shops, reasonably priced restaurants and bars. If, after a hard day on the beach, you don’t fancy the walk, these facilities are also available in the marina itself.
